Direct Payments for Community Recovery

‌PG&E’s Direct Payments for Community Recovery (DP4CR) Program is designed to easily and quickly compensate individuals whose homes, including mobile homes, were destroyed by wildfire. Our goal is to pay claimants within 75 days after they submit a complete claim with supporting documentation. ‌

INDIVIDUALS WHOSE HOMES WERE DESTROYED BY THE DIXIE FIRE MAY NOW SUBMIT CLAIMS VIA THIS WEBSITE.

Summary of the Process:

  1. Prepare to make your claim: check your eligibility, identify your co-claimants (or all members of your household), and gather documentation such as proof of identity and square footage of your home.
  2. Submit an electronic claim form with supporting documentation via this website.
  3. We review your claim to confirm your eligibility and identity; the details of your property including square footage and acreage; and your insurance coverage. We use this information to make you a settlement offer based on a standardized and objective valuation framework. If you are represented by a lawyer in connection with the Dixie Fire, we will make this offer through your lawyer.
  4. Once you accept the offer and all co-claimants sign a settlement agreement releasing all of your claims related to the fire, we quickly pay you the full amount of our offer.

The process is conducted via this website and can be completed, from start to finish, on your home computer or mobile device. If you experience trouble, PG&E representatives are available to help by phone at 1-877-873-8246.

If you are represented by a lawyer in connection with the Dixie Fire, the help that we can provide is limited to technical assistance (e.g., website). Please route any other questions to us through your lawyer and we will communicate about your claim, including your offer, through your lawyer.

Supplementary Rebuild Payments:

To further enable the recovery of the communities impacted by the Dixie Fire, and expedite the rebuilding effort in our hometowns, participants in PG&E’s Direct Payments for Community Recovery program that owned a destroyed residence and who accept the offer and receive payment, will be eligible to receive an additional $50,000 if they choose to rebuild their destroyed home. To receive this additional payment - which must be sought within one year after the initial DP4CR payment is made, individuals must provide PG&E with a copy of the issued building permit and proof that at least $30,000 in costs has been incurred toward rebuilding (contractor and architect fees, permit fees, materials costs, etc.).

If you are represented by an attorney in connection with the Dixie Fire, our help is limited to technical questions (e.g., website questions). Please route any other questions to us through your lawyer and we will communicate about your claim, including your offer, through your lawyer.
